Tennis player who dropped F-bomb seven times in BBC interview receives huge fine

  • French tennis player Corentin Moutet was issued a substantial fine, almost his entire prize money from Queen's Club , for using profane language during a live BBC post-match interview.
  • Moutet was penalised 40,000 US dollars (£30,248) by the ATP for "unsportsmanlike conduct" after uttering the 'F-word' seven times following his first-round victory.
  • The fine represents over 90 per cent of the £33,000 prize money he earned for reaching the second round of the prestigious HSBC Championships.
  • Moutet has confirmed his intention to appeal against the fine, in accordance with established ATP rules and procedures.
  • In other tournament news, American Brandon Nakashima caused a significant upset by defeating top seed and world number six Alex De Minaur in straight sets, 7-5 6-3.
