Tennis legend Serena Williams announces comeback – and she could play at Wimbledon

  • Serena Williams , aged 44, has confirmed her return to competitive tennis, almost four years after her last appearance.
  • The 23-time Grand Slam champion will play doubles at the HSBC Championships at Queen’s Club in west London, starting on 8 June.
  • She is set to partner Canadian teenager Victoria Mboko at Queen's, ahead of a potential singles appearance at Wimbledon later this month.
  • Williams re-entered the International Tennis Integrity Agency’s anti-doping testing pool last year and has been cleared to compete since 22 February.
  • She stated that Queen's Club is 'the perfect place to begin this next chapter' and has reportedly lost 34 lbs, feeling 'healthier, stronger, moving better, and feeling better'.
