Tennessee Titans’ Week 14 Player of the Game: Derrick Henry

The Tennessee Titans were led into battle against the Jacksonville Jaguars by none other than The King, running back Derrick Henry. By halftime, Henry’s 122 yards rushing had the tiny kittens licking their wounds.

In a game that started slow, the Titans stuck to their guns and did what they do best — run the damn ball. The offensive line consistently got a push, but what stood out most was Henry’s vision.

His first touchdown came with 44 seconds left in the second quarter. Henry ripped off a 36-yard house call untouched, after an impressive block on the edge by wide receiver Cameron Batson.

On Henry’s 47-yard scamper early in the third quarter, Jacksonville shifted their alignment just before the snap, hoping to catch him off guard as he took the handoff to the outside. Instead, Henry clocked the move and executed a mean cutback before heading upfield.

He ran with the ferociousness you’d expect out of the reigning NFL rushing champion, and his damage was done by the early fourth quarter. Henry finished the day with 215 yards and two touchdowns.

In his last three games versus the Jaguars that have occurred in November or later, Henry has 612 rushing yards and eight touchdowns.

But wait, there’s more…

Henry’s latest 200-yard, two-touchdown performance is the fourth of his career, which is now the most in NFL history, breaking a tie with Hall of Famers Barry Sanders, Jim Brown and LaDainian Tomlinson, all of whom had three such games during their illustrious career.

Adding to that, Henry now has four 200-yard games since 2018, the same amount the rest of the NFL has combined in that span, according to SportsCenter.

The man is not human.
