Tennessee Titans signing Caleb Farley to 4-year rookie contract

The Tennessee Titans appear to have signed their first of eight 2021 NFL draft picks in Virginia Tech product and cornerback, Caleb Farley.

According to Farley’s agent, he and the Titans have agreed to the customary four-year contract that of course will include the option for a fifth year, as is always the case with first-round picks.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport is reporting that the fully-guaranteed deal will be worth $13.495 million over the four years.

This deal comes much quicker than Tennessee’s last first-round pick. Isaiah Wilson didn’t ink his rookie deal until August of 2020, and he was the last first-round pick of the entire 2020 NFL draft to do so.

Farley was ranked as one of the best defensive prospects ahead of the 2021 NFL draft, but slid to the Titans at No. 22 overall because of medical concerns, and more specifically two previous back surgeries.

The 22-year-old corner has reassured fans that he is fine physically and will be ready to roll when training camp begins. If all goes well, the Titans will have gotten the steal of the 2021 NFL draft, so Farley is well worth the risk.

With Farley signed, the Titans now have seven more picks to ink to rookie deals, including tackle Dillon Radunz, linebacker Monty Rice, cornerback Elijah Molden, wide receivers Dez Fitzpatrick and Racey McMath, EDGE Rashad Weaver, and safety Brady Breeze.
