Tennessee Titans sign K Ryan Santoso to practice squad

Get hyped, Tennessee Titans fans: the kickoff master is back!

The Titans announced the signing of kicker Ryan Santoso, who spent time with the team in 2019, serving as a kickoff specialist. Santoso tallied 17 kickoffs over three games that season, achieving a touchback on nine.

Since then, Santoso has bounced around with a few different teams, including with the New York Giants on their practice squad in 2020.

The 26-year-old was traded by Big Blue to the Carolina Panthers before the 2021 season started. He served as the Panthers’ kicker in Week 1, making both of his field goal attempts but just one of two extra point tries.

Carolina went on to release him just a few days later.

Our expectation is that the kickoff master is being brought in for more than that this time around. While Randy Bullock will get the nod in Week 2, Santoso will be waiting in the wings if the almost seemingly inevitable happens and Bullock struggles versus the Seattle Seahawks.

To make room for Santoso, the Titans waived offensive lineman Christian DiLauro.

Of course, the addition of Santoso doesn’t add to the ever-growing list of kickers the Titans have have signed since 2019.

The list remains at 13 who have been signed to the practice squad or active roster the past two-plus seasons. Eight of those 13 either attempted a field goal, extra point and/or kickoff. Bullock is set to be the ninth.
