Tennessee Titans, rest of NFL will not hold joint practices in 2020

The Tennessee Titans will not be able to hold joint practices in 2020 after the NFL has reportedly sent a memo to all 32 teams prohibiting the practice.

The news comes from NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

In addition to training camps being conducted only at club facilities unless not feasible, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell informed clubs tonight that to mitigate exposure risks, the league and union have agreed no joint practices will be permitted this year.

Along with that news, teams will also not be permitted to hold training camp in a different location than their normal spot “unless not feasible,” as Pelissero notes.

Joint practices have become popular in recent years as a way to prepare for the season, however the NFL is clearly taking every precaution to help against the spread of the coronavirus.

The Titans held joint practices with the New England Patriots last year ahead of the teams meeting during the second week of the preseason.

Head coach Mike Vrabel previously said he would like to hold at least one or as many as two joint practices with other teams this year, but it appears that is no longer an option
