Wide receiver Josh Reynolds reportedly asked the Tennessee Titans to release him, and the team has obliged. According to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, the Titans will release Reynolds on Tuesday.
According to The Tennessean’s Ben Arthur, the two sides “mutually agreed to go different directions.”
The 26-year-old, who was signed to a one-year, $1.75 million contract this past offseason, had a short and disappointing stint with the Titans, playing in games and recording just 10 catches for 90 score-less yards.
After being considered a potential No. 2 receiver upon his arrival and before the addition of Julio Jones, Reynolds was barely used in the offense and was a healthy scratch on multiple occasions.
Reynolds will now head to waivers, where any team who claims him will assume the remaining $500,000 left on his contract.
