Tennessee Titans release Golden Tate among 6 roster moves

The Tennessee Titans announced six roster moves on Tuesday, one of which included the release of wide receiver Golden Tate, who was on the team’s practice squad.

Tate was signed to the Titans’ practice squad back in November but never got into a game. Clearly Tennessee didn’t see enough out of him in practice to give him a shot despite having injury issues at the position.

In addition to releasing Tate, the Titans also parted ways with four other players.

On the active roster, cornerback Chris Jones and linebacker Joe Jones were both waived, and defensive backs Shyheim Carter and Rodney Clemons were let go from the practice squad.

Finally, the Titans moved linebacker Monty Rice from Injured Reserve to the COVID-19 list. Rice suffered an ankle injury in the Week 12 loss to the New England Patriots.

Tennessee will return to action in Week 18 when they travel to NRG Stadium to take on the Houston Texans.
