Tennessee Titans OT Isaiah Wilson’s former OL coach gives scouting report

The Tennessee Titans seem to be clicking on offense about as well as they ever have in recent history, but headed into the 2020 NFL Draft with a need at right tackle after the departure of Jack Conklin.

The team quickly took care of the issue, selecting former Georgia offensive lineman Isaiah Wilson with the No. 29 overall pick in the first round.

Arkansas Razorbacks head coach Sam Pittman, who recruited Wilson and was his offensive line coach at Georgia, recently weighed in with a scouting report on Wilson.

“To be that athletic for that big of a person, you go to the combine a lot of times and kids might run faster, they might move a little bit better or something of that nature, but most of them aren’t doing that at 350 pounds,” Pittman said.

So, what should Titans fans know about Wilson?

“That he’ll work hard, that he’s tough and his redshirt freshman year, he played the most snaps of anybody for us on the offensive line and we had really good players that played along with him,” Pittman said.

Considering just how much Conklin was on the upswing last season, Wilson has quite the void to fill. However, he may not get his chance to start right away, as he’ll have to compete with Dennis Kelly for the starting job.

He’ll have a chance to prove he’s up to the task when the Titans get back to football later this year.
