Tennessee Titans among teams with fewest miles to travel in 2020

Perhaps the best part about the Tennessee Titans’ 2020 schedule is that the team won’t have to do a lot of traveling.

Touchdown Wire’s Barry Werner listed the distance every team in the NFL will have to go for games this upcoming season, and the Titans have the sixth-fewest miles to travel with 8,994.

“Ryan Tannehill, Mike Vrabel, and the Tennessee Titans have a comfortable road schedule, with no long trips among their 8,994 miles.”

In 2019, the Titans had one road game on the west coast, which was against the Oakland Raiders in Week 14. In total, the Titans traveled 10,706  miles, the seventh-fewest in the NFL.

In 2020, the farthest Tennessee will go west is in Week 1 against the Denver Broncos on Monday Night Football.

The physical rigors of an NFL season can make things difficult enough, but travel can only exacerbate that. Thankfully, the Titans won’t have that issue.

The only teams who have to travel fewer miles than the Titans are the Baltimore Ravens (6,420 miles), the Pittsburgh Steelers (6,600 miles), the Cleveland Browns (7,342 miles), the Cincinnati Bengals (7,516 miles) and the Indianapolis Colts (8,772 miles).

Interestingly enough, four of those five teams play in the AFC North, and all five of the top-five teams with the fewest miles to travel are on the Titans’ 2020 schedule.
