Tennessee Titans allowed the third-fewest QB pressures in 2019

The Tennessee Titans seem to have finally found their guy at quarterback in Ryan Tannehill, making a complete turnaround as a team after they named him the starter in Week 7 of last season.

But the quarterback position isn’t all that went into the Titans’ success on offense last season. Tannehill’s success and the team’s ability to get the ground game going also had some to do with the performance of the offensive line.

Tennessee’s O-line was tied with the Las Vegas Raiders for the third-fewest quarterback pressures in the league last season with 119, per Pro Football Focus, which is surprising when you consider the Titans allowed the second-most sacks in the NFL with 56.

The Baltimore Ravens topped the list with 77, while the Kansas City Chiefs sat at the No. 2 spot with 111.

Tannehill did some of his best work last season working from a clean pocket — the best in the NFL, to be exact.

The signal-caller recorded the highest passing grade in the league (94.2) when kept clean, ahead of Kirk Cousins (93.8) and Russell Wilson (93.1).

Tennessee will look for continued success from both Tannehill and the O-line as they look to make another run for the Super Bowl after falling just short last year.
