TEAM NEEDS

Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

Pass Rusher

Sophomore Harold Landry is a promising piece going forward, but the holes left behind by veterans Brian Orakpo (retired) and Derrick Morgan (free agent) must be filled. Orakpo and Morgan weren’t effective last season, but the Titans are currently heading into 2019 with Landry, veteran free agent signing Cameron Wake and Kamalei Correa as their top three edge rushers. Wake should do a great job filling the leadership hole Orakpo leaves behind, and he’s still an effective rusher at the age of 37, but the Titans must find a long term answer opposite Landry. They could target a rusher with their first round pick.

Offensive Line

They made a splash by signing Rodger Saffold here, but the interior of the offensive line still needs at least one upgrade. They recently released Josh Kline who started at RG last year, but struggled migthily. Regardless, his release leaves a major question mark at that spot right now. They also seem set to let last year’s starting LG Quinton Spain walk in free agency (already replaced by Saffold). In what’s sure to be a crucial year for quarterback Marcus Mariota, continuing to upgrade the interior of the offensive line could be priority numero uno heading into the draft.

Wide Receiver

Corey Davis established himself as the team’s No. 1 receiver last season, and free agent signing Adam Humphries will undoutebly man the slot, but they need to find someone opposite Davis. Most of the outside reps last season opposite Davis were filled by Taywan Taylor or Tajae Sharpe, but neither player did much to convince they should man that spot again in 2019. The Titans could look for a big, physical target opposite Davis.

Defensive Line

Jurrell Casey has been a force on the inside for a long time, but the Titans have never really paired him with anyone close to his level. They’ve gotten some production out of DaQuan Jones, but adding an upgrade next to No. 99 here could ensure that teams can’t double team him on a snap by snap basis.
