Tennessee’s loss put an end to the last perfect NCAA bracket after historic run

The only perfect bracket left is no longer perfect, thanks to Tennessee coming up short and a questionable call by the refs.

Yup, Purdue’s overtime win was the first game Gregg Nigl got wrong in his bracket, which was a historic run for NCAA brackets. Nigl, which Gonzaga’s win Thursday night, had picked the first 49 games correctly, which is 10 picks better than the previous record holder, per Darren Rovel.

Nigl, a neuropsychologist from Ohio who made the media rounds during the the week, was flown out to Anaheim by Buick with his son to watch Thursday’s games in person.
