Tennent's poke fun at Carlsberg after billboard advert placed right across from Glasgow factory

Tennent's Lager has poked fun at fellow beer company Carlsberg after they cheekily put up a large billboard advert across from the Glasgow factory.

The billboard is literally across the road from the Tennent’s Visitor Centre at Wellpark.

And as a bit of banter between the two, Tennent’s has put up their own billboard on the digital screen, mocking Carlsberg for the fact their beer isn’t brewed in Denmark.

The tongue-in-cheek message has attracted attention from beer fans on social media who have praised Tennent's for the good humour.

The Carlsberg advert reads: "New Carlsberg Danish Pilsner. Rebrewed from head to hop."

Meanwhile the Tennent's advert says: "Scotland's favourite beer. Only ever brewed here. Danish Pilsner? Probably brewed in Northampton." With an arrow pointing across the road to the Carlsberg advert.

A Tennent’s Lager spokesperson said: "Made with 100% Scottish barley, the finest hops and the freshest water from Loch Katrine; Tennent’s has been brewed here, to the same recipe since 1885 and we’re proud to be Scotland’s favourite beer."
