Tennent’s, C&C Group plc, say they are moving into Newbridge “so we can enhance the service to our east coast customers.”
They have recently placed the job advertisements for a batch of new warehouse operatives online.
They say: “We are extending our distribution network by opening a new warehouse in Newbridge so we can enhance the service to our east coast customers and strengthen our logistics capabilities.
“As such, we are now looking for Warehouse Operatives which will safely and efficiently handle goods to replenish stock, stock rotation, pick orders for delivery and load / unload trucks to ensure the smooth daily operations of the depot.”
The new warehouse is part of a bigger plan to consolidate staff from the Matthew Clark Glasgow warehouse into either the Tennent’s facility in Cambuslang or the new depot in Edinburgh.
Some staff did not want to make the move through to Edinburgh and the company are now hoping to fill these roles fast.
Tennent’s Lager is Scotland’s best-selling beer and have been brewing in Glasgow since 1885.
A young Hugh Tennent discovered pilsner style beer in Bavaria and returned to pioneer the launch of Tennent’s Lager, believed to be the UK’s first lager.
Today, the Tennent’s Lager recipe remains true to the one introduced by Hugh more than 130 years ago, using 100% Scottish barley, the finest Herkules hops and the fresh water of Loch Katrine.
