Tennent's fans can now buy trainers inspired by their favourite beer

Fans of Tennent's can now buy customised trainers inspired by the drinks after a pair of designers from Glasgow announced their latest range.

Friends Fergus McPhillamy and Euan Angus set up Customs Glasgow during lockdown and recently released a range inspired by Glasgow landmarks such as the Armadillo, the Duke of Wellington (cone included) and the Finnieston crane.

The duo have now created the Guilty Pleasures Collection which includes the odes to Tennent's as well as other well-known alcoholic drinks.

Having recently graduated from Glasgow Uni the pair took to customising trainers during lockdown to keep creative and they soon realised there was a gap in the market.

Fergus sad: “With all the covid stuff going on we thought we needed to do something productive with our time, we didn’t expect it to gain so much traction so quickly.

“It’s a difficult time for graduates right now, there's not a lot of jobs out there at the moment but we wanted to keep busy during lockdown and think outside the box.”

Engineering grad Fergus told Glasgow Live that they’ve had a great reaction to their Glasgow collection with people "queueing up" for them to create more bespoke versions.

He said: "Coming from a small town in the Scottish Borders, we have chosen to pay tribute to the impact Glasgow has made on us both.

“We knew we had to pick designs and symbols that were instantly recognisable to all Glaswegians.

“We love Glasgow but this is just the start for us - hopefully we can do other cities in the future too.”

Speaking about their newest range, Euan told us: "As for the inspiration for this range, we wanted to reflect and build upon our Landmark Collection by looking at how we could champion Glasgow in a more tongue-in-cheek fashion through popular culture.

"With both of us having experienced student/social life in Glasgow at various points we were aware as to how intrinsic the beverages which inspired the range are to flat parties and the cities nightlife.

"With two of the drinks of inspiration not even originating from Scotland we also looked to explore the power and character with which Glasgow as a city adopts brands, people and culture in making them it’s own."

The 'Big Juice' trainers are inspired by Tennent's, with prices for the new range starting at £115, available to buy here.

Fergus explained that it's quite a process to make each trainer, with each pair taking "around 20-30 hours to bring from concept to reality", he said: “We draft up numerous different designs on Photoshop and then narrow it down to the best.

"The painting has also been a bit of a learning curve, it’s been a long time since art at high school!"
