Christopher Nolan’s anticipated new film, Tenet, is among several movies to have its release date pushed back by Warner Bros.
The spy thriller starring John David Washington and Robert Pattinson was originally scheduled to open in cinemas on 17 July, but will now be released on 31 July, according to Deadline.
Other shifts include the release of Wonder Woman 1984 from 14 August to 2 October, and The Matrix from 21 May 2021 to 1 April.
Godzilla vs King Kong has been moved from 20 November 2020 to 21 May 2021.
Tenet will still mark the first new blockbuster release since lockdown measures were put in place.
Warner Bros is planning to cheer up disappointed fans by screening Nolan’s filmInception on the day Tenet was supposed to come out.
It was previously reported that Nolan was fighting to keep Tenet’s release date as 17 July.
However, Forbes reported that if 80 per cent of cinemas were not open in time for its planned release date, Tenet would be delayed.
