Tenants baffled by ad for London room at £572-a-month that appears to have no door

Desperate renters were left baffled when a flat listing in east London appeared to show a bedroom without a door.

The SpareRoom advert prompted comparisons to The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe after eagle-eyed viewers noticed the entrance was hidden behind a wardrobe.

Whoever took the photos for the £572-a-month room appeared to have stood on the bed in order to capture it.

The advert described the room as a “Cosy Bright Double Room,” despite its cramped appearance.

The agent had also described it as “massive yet warm and cosy.”

Aside from the wardrobe and bed, the landlord has crammed a small desk into the remaining space.

Twitter users mocked the advert, with one asking if it was an “escape room” and another commenting “£145 a week to lodge with Mr Tumnus.”

One suggested: “The wardrobe is on wheels! So you simple roll it towards the bed and squeeze through. Easy peasy!”

SpareRoom said they removed the advert as soon as they were alerted to it.
