Tenant secured for one of Stoke-on-Trent's largest warehouses

A national retailer has been identified as the new tenant of one of Stoke-on-Trent's largest warehouses.

The occupant - who wishes to remain anonymous for now - is preparing to move into the 141,000 sq ft industrial unit on Campbell Road in Stoke.

The warehouse, located close to tyre-giant Michelin's headquarters, was snapped up in a deal agreed during the coronavirus crisis.

Property agent Mounsey Chartered Surveyors says the move shows that businesses across the UK are looking to 'get back to normal.'

Company director Richard Mounsey said: "We are delighted to have let this building. It is one of the largest existing buildings available in the area amounting to just over 141,000 sq ft.

"This is a sign that, despite the ongoing uncertainties surrounding Covid-19, businesses are looking to get back to normal.

"In general, we are seeing the market beginning to awaken. Activity has been pretty low during lockdown but we are now starting to take calls, undertake inspections and transact on property.

"The market may be impacted, but deals are happening."

The deal follows an announcement by Birmingham-based retailer Anything 4 Home that it is relocating to Stoke-on-Trent - and creating 45 new jobs - after spending two years trying to find a suitable premises.
