Ten-year-old Edinburgh Border Collie looking for her first permanent home

A ten-year-old Border Collie based in Edinburgh is looking for a loving family to adopt her, having never settled into a permanent home.

Becky, the energetic four-legged friend who "loves to be fussed over" came to the Scottish SSPCA team while very nervous having never lived in a home before, but the organisation are hoping that someone within Edinburgh and the Lothians can adopt her into their welcoming environment.

The Scottish SSPCA look to rehome dogs all over the country, including those who have been rescued from troublesome owners or have been abandoned as puppies.

In 2021 alone, the group rehomed nearly 6000 pets and responded to 87,000 inspections, the equivalent of around 238 each day, highlighting the outstanding work they do to rescue pets from owners who mistreat and don't care for them properly.

As ever, they have released a little bit of information about Becky and what she likes in an owner, saying: "Can you give this gorgeous older lady the fresh start she is looking for?

"Becky was a little nervous when she first arrived, but with a lot of TLC from the staff she soon came round. Now she is always really pleased to see us and just loves going for walks and being fussed over.

"She has previously lived with another dog, so pending a successful introduction, may be able to do so again. As far as we are aware Becky has never lived in a house before, so will need a patient new owner, who has the time and experience to help her settle in. She will also need to be toilet trained.

"A secure, enclosed garden is a must, so she can continue her training and also to do a bit of sunbathing. Help us to rehome this pet."

As well as dogs, the Scottish SSPCA also care for cats, rabbits and other small pets.
