Ten people have tragically died after a Covid outbreak in a Scottish care home which saw 68 residents and staff test positive for the bug.
NHS Fife has said it worked closely with Mossview Care Home in Lochgelly in Scotland to prevent the spread of the virus and offer support.
It comes as the deadline set by the Scottish Government to have all care home residents, frontline workers and over-80s vaccinated arrived yesterday.
The cluster of cases saw ten people tragically die and 25 residents and 43 staff test in the care home positive for the virus.
It was forced to shut its doors to new admissions but has since reopened as it is now 14 days since the last positive test.
NHS Fife said: "NHS Fife is aware of a recent cluster of confirmed Covid-19 cases associated with Mossview Care Home in Lochgelly.
"A total of 25 residents tested positive for the virus. A further 43 staff have also tested positive for Covid-19.
"Sadly, 10 people died after contracting Covid-19 and our thoughts are with their loved ones at this difficult time."
Fife Health and Social Care Partnership and Fife Council's environmental health service have both been working to help the management of the care home amid the outbreak, NHS Fife said.
In a statement today, the Scottish Government said 93 per cent of over-80s in the community got their first dose of the jab by the target date of 5 February.
Meanwhile 99% of older adult care home residents and 89% of care home staff have been vaccinated in Scotland, according to new figures released today.
A total 786,427 people across the country had received the first dose.
