Ten-month-old Haisley Davis is the 'Rainbow baby' her parents so desperately wished for

10-month-old Haisley Davis is the "Rainbow baby" her parents so desperately wished for. After a series of devastating miscarriages for her mum, Bonnie Canning, she fell pregnant with Haisley.

But even then it was a difficult pregnancy for Bonnie in her final trimester, with Haisley being delivered by Category 1 emergency C-section, when there is immediate threat to the life of the woman or baby. Bonnie told Nottinghamshire Live: "Both of us are lucky to be here".

Bonnie, who is currently on maternity leave from her role as "senior worker" at an Aspley care home, said Haisley is "our rainbow baby". "My partner and I were trying to conceive but were having miscarriages. Then I had a lot of difficulties at the end of the pregnancy and I had a Category 1 C-section".

Beautiful Haisley was born at the Queen's Medical Centre, Nottingham, at 2.22am on December 21, 2021 - which her mum describes as her "angel numbers" - as they are all the "twos".

And now there is more good news as her bouncing baby girl, who is confidently talking her first few steps and saying a few words, has secured a place in Miss Beauty UK charity pageant, which raises money for Great Minds Pathway, after she was chosen as "Miss Tiny East Midlands".

Haisley, who lives with her parents in Aspley, will wear three outfits in three categories for the final on November 19 at Pontyberem Memorial Hall, Pontyberem, Llanelli. One involves wearing green camouflage - representing mental health, then recycled wear - which will involved little Bonnie wearing an outfit crafted by her mum of her partner's top which he wore on their first date.

Finally, Haisley, will don a tiny ballgown for the last round. Bonnie, 27, says: "I just want her to grow up with a bit more confidence in the world". The family are also raising money for Great Minds Pathway and Children's Bereavement Centre, and they will be at Scarefest, Newark Castle and Gardens Castle Gate, Newark, which takes place between Saturday, October 29, and Sunday October 30 this year.
