Ten Hunter New England COVID-19 infections as hospital cases dwindle

HEALTH authorities are urging anyone who attended Macquarie Life Church at Cardiff on November 21 between 10am and noon to monitor for symptoms for 14 days following the exposure.

Hunter New England added 10 fresh cases among NSW's 150 on Monday, found through more than 47,000 tests in 24 hours.

Two cases were in Lake Macquarie - one at Glendale and the other at Macquarie Hills.

Maitland had a case in Rutherford, while Cessnock recorded one at Cliftleigh.

Midcoast local government area added five, including one at Tuncurry, Harrington and Tree.

Wingham added a pair, with Armidale also recording a case.

Only four active cases are in Hunter New England hospital, with one in intensive care.

Only two cases are not linked to existing clusters, but six were infectious while in the community.

Genomic testing on three international arrivals from southern Africa is expected tonight to reveal whether they are carrying the Omicron mutation of the virus.
