Ten fire engines and about 70 firefighters rushed to the scene of a blaze at a block of maisonettes in Wembley in the early hours of the morning.
Video footage of the blaze posted on social media appeared to show fire crews work to control the fire that had torn through a roof, sending smoke billowing into the sky.
London Fire Brigade said the service had been called to the site of the inferno on Lyon Park Avenue, Wembley on Thursday morning.
The roof of a property and a neighbouring car workshop had been on fire, they said in a statement.

The brigade said it was called at 01.57 and fire crews from Wembley, Park Royal, Acton, Northolt and surrounding stations were at the scene.
The cause of the fire is not yet known but the brigade said that there had been no casualties and it was brought under control by about 4.30am.
Firefighters said they were likely to 'remain at the scene for some time as they work to extinguish any remaining hotspots.'
They added: "The cause of the fire is under investigation."
The latest fire, in which there were no casualties, came hours after the brigade took to social media to say they had attended nine separate fatal fires in the last month.
In a post on Facebook they wrote: "In the last month, we've sadly attended nine separate fatal fires.
"That is nine too many and our thoughts are with the families and friends of those who lost their lives. While there is no suggestion that the incidents were linked, we are asking you to take steps to help ensure your family is safe over Christmas."
