Ten drivers stopped by police during Monday morning speed checks in Corstorphine

Ten drivers were stopped by police during Monday morning speed checks in Corstorphine.

Community officer PC Smith and a road policing team took part in a joint initiative on Corstorphine Road and Corstorphine High Street.

A number of motorists were pulled over and warned about their speed, according to the Edinburgh Police North West social media account.

Speed checks have been carried out on a number of Edinburgh routes in recent days.

On Saturday the police national motorcycle unit carried out enforcement activity on roads in the west and north of the city. A number of drivers were warned while two were reported to the procurator fiscal.

Police have this week also launched a campaign which aims to catch the thousands of uninsured drivers on roads across Scotland.
