Ten drivers clocked speeding by police carrying out 'checks' in Edinburgh's Colinton area

A number of motorists driving in Edinburgh's Colinton area yesterday were reported or received a warning, say police.

Ten drivers in total were clocked speeding on Redford Road yesterday (4 June).

Six of the drivers received a warning from the police for their speed.

Meanwhile, a further four other drivers were reported for speeding offences.

Road Policing Scotland said the National Motorcycle Unit was carrying out "speed checks" on the road after receiving "local complaints".

Elsewhere, Edinburgh Council also tweeted to say they had been working with police to raise awareness of 20mph amongst speeding drivers.

Video footage captures police charging and reporting one woman for speeding and using a phone while driving in Edinburgh.
