Ten-day-old baby dies after being found unresponsive at house

A 10-day-old baby boy has died in hospital after being found unresponsive at a house.

Police were called by paramedics to a house in Lockside Road, Preston, Lancashire, at around 2:05am on Tuesday, September 21.

Police said the death is being treated as “unexplained” and an investigation is ongoing - reports Mirror Online.

Emergency crews hurried the baby to the Royal Preston Hospital for treatment, but he was pronounced dead a short time later.

A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: "We were called by the ambulance service at around 2:05am on Tuesday, September 21 to reports a ten-day-old boy had been found unresponsive at an address on Lockside Road, Preston.

"He was taken to hospital but sadly died a short time later.

"The death is currently being treated as unexplained and our enquiries are ongoing."
