
NEWCASTLE has added 10 fresh COVID-19 cases on Sunday after days of single-digit results across the region.
Hunter New England health district on Sunday declared 32 fresh cases including two at Lake Macquarie and one each from Port Stephens, Singleton, Cessnock and Maitland.
Three of Newcastle's cases were in Maryland, with another three at Wallsend and two in Jesmond.
Individual cases popped up in North Lambton and Hamilton.
Rathmines and Windale were home to Lake Macquarie's two cases.
The Hunter's individual cases fell in Darlington, Thornton, Kurri Kurri and Raymond Terrace.
Midcoast Council had seven cases, Moree five and three in Tamworth.
Inverell had a single case.
13 of the 32 fresh cases were infectious in the community, with 23 linked to known cases or clusters.
It takes the health district's tally to 659 active cases, with 11 in hospital and three in intensive care.
