Templehall Avenue Kirkcaldy: Bomb disposal unit race to Fife street after grenade found in house

Emergency service raced to a street in Fife after a grenade was found inside a house.

Officers sealed off part of Templehall Avenue, in Kirkcaldy, at around 11.05am on 26 October and a bomb disposal unit was sent in.

Photos showed police at the scene this morning outside a property on a residential street, reports STV News.

According to police, what "appeared to be a grenade was found" at the home but experts established the device was inactive.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said:

“Police were made aware of the discovery of what appeared to be a grenade at a property at in Templehall Avenue in Kirkcaldy at 11.05am on Monday, October 26.

"The immediate area was cordoned off and EOD officers attended and the device was found to be inert.”
