Temple Way closed for three hours after woman falls

Police closed a busy city centre road for three hours after a woman fell.

Officers and paramedics were called at 10.45pm on Tuesday (August 11) to Temple Way in Bristol.

The well-used route was closed in both directions while emergency crews assisted the woman. She was then taken to hospital.

An Avon and Somerset Police spokesman said: "We were called by the ambulance service at 10.45pm last night (Tues 11 August) to reports of a woman having been injured in a fall.

"Temple Way, near the Old Market roundabout, was closed in both directions while the incident was dealt with.

"The woman was taken to hospital by paramedics.

"Emergency services remained on the scene until approximately 1.45pm."
