What’s Going To Happen
Even after losing to UCF and SMU isn back-to-back weeks, there’s still hope or Temple to take the East.
It’s going to take a win at Cincinnati, and there’s a whole lot of work to do, but the teams that handed Memphis its lone win is just good enough to hang around until the very end.
But the defense has to show up again.
Granted, SMU and UCF are outliers, but they ripped through the Owl defense, combining for 108 points over the last two weeks. The Temple offense is fine, but it’s not going to bring the big scoring punch to put this away fast.
USF has gone on a nice run of three wins in four games to get back in the bowl picture, but with this, Memphis and UCF to close out, it’s a long shot.
The offense continues to be too inconsistent, but the defensive front is great at getting behind the line, and this group knows how to take the ball away.
However, the Bull offensive line is about to get destroyed by the Temple defensive front that should come up with at least four sacks while also stuffing the running game just enough force plenty of long third down chances.
The Owl defense will rise back up after the rough outings, and the offensive balance that wasn’t there in the blowout losses – the running game went away – will work from the start.
