What’s Going To Happen
Coming off a miserable 1-10 2018 season, Bucknell will be nothing more than a light preseason battle for a Temple team that’s starting up the Rod Carey era and prepping for Maryland to come to town next week.
The Bison’s biggest issue last year was a lack of a scoring punch. There was no downfield passing game, the O only averaged 227 yards per game, and the ground game was a disaster.
Temple will control the clock for at least 34 minutes behind a good veteran offensive line that will own the ground game and keep things moving. The key will be not giving the ball away.
Bucknell’s offense will be better and stronger, but it’s still not going to have enough consistent pop. The defense, though, should once again be great at forcing turnovers – it’ll come up with a few to keep Temple from taking the blowout to another level – but the Bison team that scored fewer than 20 points ten times last year won’t be able to score.
