Most of the country can expect temperatures to continue dropping, but Bangkok will be warmer moving into next week with some showers, and the rains continue in the South.

The Meteorological Department forecast for Saturday and beyond is for temperatures fall a further 1-4°C in the central, northern, northeastern and eastern regions.

However, Bangkok and its adjacent provinces can expect a rise in temperature of up to 3°C, with scattered showers from Wednesday.

The country officially entered the cold season last Saturday and it continues into mid-February.

The weather agency said more rain is expected in the lower part of the southern region, with heavy falls in some areas over the weekend.

Chiang Rai recorded the lowest temperature in the northern region at 17°C on Friday morning, and Roi Et was the chilliest place in the northeastern region with 15.1°C.
