A mini heatwave has hit Greater Manchester today - but thunderstorm warnings have also been issued, with fears of power cuts and damage to property.
The summer may have got off to a patchy start but glorious sunshine and balmy temperatures have finally arrived.
Met Office forecasters say the heat could stay for three days this week.
Today the sun will be out in full force by midday where temperatures could gradually peak to 30C.
This will continue into the evening with an exceptionally warm summer's night with temperatures remaining as high as 27C at 9pm.

It will be another hot day across the UK on Wednesday, but slightly cooler for Greater Manchester with clouds changing to sunny intervals by late morning.
The hot weather then brings a risk of thundery showers for Thursday.
A Met Office statement read: "Scattered thunderstorms are expected to affect parts of south-west and southern England this evening, moving north quickly across the UK overnight, clearing Scotland and eastern England by mid-morning on Wednesday.
"Although some places will miss the thunderstorms altogether, where they do occur there is the potential for frequent lightning, hail and gusty winds, as well as sudden downpours in a few places."
The warning added: "There is a slight chance that power cuts could occur and other services to some homes and businesses could be lost.

"There is a small chance of damage to property from lightning strikes, hail or strong winds. There is a small chance of a few homes and businesses likely, leading to some damage to buildings or structures.
"There is a small chance driving conditions will be affected by spray, standing water and/or hail, leading to longer journey times by car and bus."
Temperatures will remain warm with highs of 31C but cloud and rain could hit parts of the region in the afternoon.
The outlook for Friday and Saturday is a little cooler and cloudier.

Much of the UK is expected to bask in temperatures above 30C for three days straight this week, with highs of 35C in the south.
But this hot and humid weather then leaves a risk for thundery showers toward the second half of the week.
Those getting ready for a UK break should pack waterproofs.
