
Temperatures soared in many parts of Japan on Friday, with the mercury rising above 35 C in Tokyo.
The Meteorological Agency issued a heatstroke warning for Tokyo, Chiba Prefecture and Ibaraki Prefecture.
As of 3:40 p.m., temperatures had risen above the 35C mark in seven locations across the country, including Shizuoka at 37.1C and Nerima Ward, Tokyo, at 35.9C.
