Glasgow Weather: Temperatures dip to -6 degrees tonight as freezing fog sets in

That mild November spell was fun while it lasted, Glasgow - but December is almost here and with it comes plummeting temperatures as winter well and truly sets in.

The last few days have hovered around 10 degrees, but with highs of just 3C today (Friday), Glasgow is well and truly feeling the cold.

That weather trend looks set to continue into the weekend, when we’ll be lucky to rise above freezing (0C). Time to crank up the heating!

The Met Office forecast predicts subzero temperatures tonight, reading: “Dry this evening with a frost soon setting in. The rest of the night will be dry and clear with a widespread sharp frost. Isolated freezing fog patches. Minimum temperature -6C.”

Freezing fog looks set to continue into Saturday and Sunday, lingering into the afternoon and keeping temperatures low, with highs of just 1C and 2C.

The cold snap may be short-lived, however, with the weather forecast showing higher temps (along with plenty of rain) into next week.

Still, take care out there if you’re planning on a night out in Glasgow this weekend - and stay tuned with Glasgow Live for more weather-related updates.
