It's been a year like no other for residents across Merseyside who have seen their day-to-day lives immediately change, but their community spirit stays as strong as ever.
The coronavirus pandemic has undoubtedly challenged and tested us in many ways, but it has also reinforced the hard work taking place within our communities.

Coming together at a time when we need it most, there are thousands of community heroes from across the region who have done vital deeds, both small and big.
And there are many who have carried on the incredible work they have been doing for years, which continue to make a huge difference to those in need.
From key workers and hard-working volunteers to caring neighbours and long-standing community groups, we want you to tell us who your Knowsley community hero is for 2020.
We've created a survey where you can tell us who they are, where they're based in the borough of Knowsley and how they have been a community hero to you this year.
The survey takes just a few minutes to fill in and is also being shared across social media so that we can include as many individuals and groups as possible.
We will then compile a list of those nominated which will feature in another Liverpool ECHO article.
