Tell us what you think about Liverpool's local lockdown measures

Health chiefs in Liverpool have been battling hard to contain the spread of coronavirus in one area of the city.

After a rise in cases was detected in the Princes Park area of the city, the city council brought in a number of lockdown restrictions for local residents.

This means that currently people living within the council ward are being told not to enter other households or stay over with family or friends in their homes.

Care home visits have been cancelled and gatherings and events in the area have been suspended.

Director of Public Health Matt Ashton has also brought in two local testing faciltiies and has enlisted the help of local community and faith leaders to help get the word out.

So far it would appear that the measures are having the right effect, with Liverpool's overall coronavirus case numbers dropping in recent days.

Crucially, the number of confirmed cases in Princes Park ward have also fallen significantly.

We would like to like to ask our readers what they feel about the extra lockdown restrictions that the city has brought in as it bids to contain the infection.

Are the restrictions necessary? How do you feel the city is working in general to contain the virus?

The new guidance also reaffirms the need for social distancing and we would like to know if you think this is happening in your area.
