If evidence were needed that, despite all the cuts to government budgets, the public sector is still a good employment option, then look no further than the civil service fast stream.
The fast stream programme, which opens for applications on 1 September 2016, is one of the most popular graduate schemes in the country. It is also hugely competitive: in 2014, more than 20,000 people applied for one of the 915 available positions, with only a one in 20 chance of getting on the scheme.
The programme offers talented and ambitious graduates an accelerated route to leadership within the civil service, providing leadership roles within three to five years in both general and specialist jobs.
Navigating the complex application scheme is just the start. We want to hear from those who’ve already done it successfully, those who failed - and those who decided, on reflection, that the civil service was not for them.
If you’re already a civil service fast streamer, an unsuccessful candidate from previous years or a civil servant with strong views about the scheme, we want to hear your views.
