You have questions. I have some answers.
Q: Could you please tell me what happened to the Hallmark Channel series "When Calls the Heart"? I haven't seen any new episodes for several weeks.
A: The frontier drama took a break during its sixth season to deal with the scandal surrounding star Lori Loughlin, who has been among dozens charged in college admission-cheating schemes. Loughlin and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, are accused of spending $500,000 on fraudulent ways to get their two daughters into USC. Another well-known actress, Felicity Huffman, was also charged in the case and has said she will plead guilty. At this writing, Loughlin has not entered a plea and new charges have been added to her original ones.
Shortly after the first charges were announced, Hallmark cut ties with Loughlin and "When Calls" went on hiatus to figure out life without her. (She was also reportedly dropped by the Netflix comedy "Fuller House.") "When Calls" has now set a return, with an episode on May 5 and another on May 6. The news was so big, the network made it in a special on-air announcement on Wednesday and promised more news during the Saturday telecast of the movie "Bottled with Love."
The Wednesday announcement did not address what would happen with Loughlin's character. Entertainment Weekly's sources said Loughlin has been completely edited out of the season's remaining episodes, and "some minor reshoots" were made.
Q: Why is Bob Ley never on ESPN's "Outside the Lines with Bob Ley"?
A: In mid-August last year, Ley announced he was going to take a six-month sabbatical "to recharge." He said on Twitter that "the idea of stepping back ... is fully 100 percent mine, and one I've been considering for a while." His break officially began on Sept. 28. An ESPN representative did not have a specific air date for his return but said it will be sometime this month. So maybe he'll be back by the time you're reading this.
Q: I have been watching every rerun of "Last Man Standing," hoping to catch the episode showing Kristin and Ryan's wedding. Was it ever shown?
A: No. Kristin and Ryan firmed up their wedding plans _ agreeing to get married in a church _ in the final episode of the fourth season. (The show is now in its seventh.) When the fifth season began, several months had passed and the wedding had already taken place.
Q: I love all the characters on "Animal Kingdom," especially Ellen Barkin. Will it return for another season?
A: Yes. The fourth season will begin May 28 on TNT. Some of the plot lines the network has mentioned: Pope dealing with his anger, Craig plotting a difficult heist, the arrival of a new criminal crew _ and a new recurring character played by Emily Deschanel of "Bones."
Q: What happened to the sitcom that went on without Roseanne Barr? John Goodman and other "Roseanne" cast were in it when it aired for a short period of time and then disappeared. I enjoyed it. Will it return?
A: Yes. "The Conners," the continuation of the TV family's story after the firing of Roseanne Barr, first aired for 11 episodes from October into January. Even minus Barr, the show did well, with ABC calling it TV's most-watched comedy in total viewers and in the advertiser-coveted viewers 18 to 49 years old. As a result, the network has ordered a second season of "The Conners" for this fall. A top ABC executive said the show's team "is fearless in their willingness to tackle contemporary issues with humor and heart, and I have no doubt they will continue to outdo themselves."
