Teletubbies, Minions, and nuns: See Halloween revellers enjoy fancy dress night out in Newcastle

Revellers descended on Newcastle's Bigg Market on Saturday night to celebrate Halloween in an impressive array of costumes.

From Minions and superheroes to nuns and prisoners, there was an eclectic mix of fancy dress outfits on display in the city centre this weekend.

Huge crowds of partygoers were seen braving the autumn chill to make the most of their first Halloween night out since all coronavirus restrictions were lifted.

And drinkers didn't hold back as they danced and mingled with friends outside of the city's nightspots.

It comes after hundreds of people queued down Northumberland Street on Friday afternoon to get into the city's popular costume shop Magic Box ahead of their big Halloween night out.

Shoppers endured long waits in the rain to get their hands on their perfect costume.

And from the scenes on Saturday, it certainly looks as though it was worth the effort.
