Telegraph TV and radio editor Neil Midgley will shortly be donning fake tan and rhinestones when he takes to the ice at a special charity event organised by the former rugby player and Dancing on Ice winner Kyran Bracken. Midge, who has become addicted to ice-skating since having a go for a feature on Torvill and Dean six months ago, has been asked by Bracken to dance at his Ice Party show in Bournemouth on 4 September. Unlike the celebrities who take party on the ITV1 reality show, Midge - who suffered a trip to hospital after hurting his foot during rehearsals - will not have a partner to prop him up, but will instead take part in a dance-off with a local celebrity. The potential shame of losing to a local radio "personality" is worth sponsoring him alone, surely? All money raised is going to the charity Combat Stress, which specialises in the care of military veterans' mental health.
