Telecity and Premier Oil lifted by takeover speculation

Back with bid speculation for a moment, as Telecity, the data centre specialist, continues to gain on talk of a possible offer.

US group Equinix is the name traders keep hearing, and after last week's rises Telecity is up another 10.4p at 430.4p.

Elsewhere Oriel Securities has suggested Premier Oil, up 34p at £14.84, as a target for the Korea National Oil Corporation. KNOC has already approached Dana Petroleum, down 8p at £14.75, and is thought to be still in takeover talks with the company despite some suggestions to the contrary. But that has not stopped Oriel speculating about further permutations:

The KNOC approach for Dana has rekindled bid speculation in the sector and we do not see Premier as immune from this interest. In many ways Premier offers a better fit for KNOC (stronger production growth, higher reserves, better operating team, more compelling overlap of geographies) and an approach cannot be ruled out whether or not the bid for Dana is successful.
