HYDERABAD: A 8-year-old girl suffocated to death after she got trapped inside a parked car in Nagarkurnool district on Saturday.
District police said that on Thursday, the girl, who is a rag picker, saw a car whose door was not properly closed by its owner. For unknown reasons, she got into the car. After she closed the door, she got locked inside.
“It looks like she did not know how to open the door. Using a rod which was there inside the car, she tried to bang the window. But she failed. Later, she suffocated to death,” Nagarkurnool district superintendent K Manohar said.
On Saturday morning, when the car owner came near the vehicle, he got a foul smell. To his shock, when he opened the door, a girl’s dead body was found inside the car. Immediately, he alerted the police.
Luckily there was CCTV nearby the car and the police found the girl getting into the car and later getting trapped.
