HYDERABAD: An interstate bike thief and two minors were arrested on Saturday and 13 bikes worth 17 lakh were recovered from the possession of the accused.
On credible information, Afzalgunj police arrested Mohammed Mahabub, 24, a mason from Bidar and two 17-year-old boys. The accused confessed to have committed 13 offences at Afzalgunj, Chaderghat, Miyapur, Sanathnagar, Koheer, Sadashivpet and Zaheerabad.
During investigation, police verified the CCTV footage and traced the accused to Manakheli in Bidar. The police team arrested the accused on Friday in Bidar.
Mahabub said that he along with the absconding accused Azher, Fasil and Salman of Bidar stole bikes parked on the road and sold each bike to the juvenile offenders for 20,000 to 30,000. The two minors, in turn, sold the bikes to gullible persons for profit.
The accused were produced before the court and sent in judicial remand.
