HYDERABAD: Siddipet district authorities in Telangana have imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on the owner of a home foods shop for using banned plastic material.
The Siddipet municipality found that Kumar Home Foods on Hyderabad Road had stocked plastic covers and glasses and penalised them.
Special teams that had been formed in the municipality while patrolling during the nights found that a person brought large packets and the waste from them was being dumped on the road.
The bags contained waste material from a ladies hostel.
The authorities imposed a penalty of Rs 15,000 for dumping the waste material.
The authorities also got the material taken away to the hostel and got it segregated into wet waste and dry waste for disposal in a proper manner.
