HYDERABAD: Telangana government would come to the rescue of students from state, who returned from war torn Ukraine, and try to continue their studies in the state, chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao announced in the assembly on Tuesday.
"The Telangana government is ready to bear the expenses for the continuation of the medicine course of over 700 students, who returned from Ukraine keeping in view of their future. Our chief secretary and health minister will write a letter to the Centre on this," KCR said.
The CM said the government had brought 740 students, of whom the majority went to Ukraine for studying medicine, back to the state by bearing expenditure. Of them, over 700 went to the Ukraine for studying MBBS in that country as they can complete the medicine course with Rs 20-25 lakh while it costs about Rs One crore in the state, he said.
KCR said as many as 20,000 students were in the Ukraine from the country and Telangana brought them back with coordination with the officials and Delhi resident commissioner. He said students preferred Ukraine as there were no chances of getting seats.
Even the BJP minister made adverse comments to a parent in Karnataka which were highly objectionable, he said.
