HYDERABAD: The Congress on Friday slammed the ruling TRS for not giving permission to the Congress training camp scheduled to be held from January 9 to 11 at a resort near Shamirpet on city outskirts.
All India Congress Committee in charge of Telangana Manickam Tagore tweeted that while permission has been given to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak (RSS) meeting in the city, the TRS government has denied permission to the Congress training camp.
“Why these double standards? With this, the TRS-BJP's "gali mein dosti" has also been exposed. Earlier, it was Delhi mein dosti and Galli mein Kusti. Only 120 leaders of the Congress were supposed to attend the training camp compared to 300-plus RSS members already attending the meeting,” Tagore said and added the TRS government has not only given permission to Sangh parivar programme but is also providing protection to them.
Telangana Congress working president and MLA T Jayaprakash Jagga Reddy demanded that the Director General of Police look into the issue and give permission as only 120 people will attend and would follow all the Covid-19 norms. He came down heavily on DGP M Mahender Reddy for denying permission for Congress party’ training programme and asked how the police gave permission to hold an RSS programme.
Referring to the recent visit of the BJP national president J P Nadda to the city, he asked the DGP if the Covid rules did not apply to the saffron party chief. “Is the DGP denying permission to the Congress as it is not in power in the state and at the Centre,” he asked?
