Telangana: Cheated, couple commits suicide

PARAKALA (WARANGAL RURAL): Claiming that they were cheated, a couple committed suicide by consuming poison in Hanamkonda on Thursday.

The duo Tallapally Keshava Swamy, 45, his wife Sandhya Rani resorted to the extreme step near the church. They were the residents of Ponakallu village in Duggondi mandal and were residing in Hanamkonda.

In his suicide note, Swamy said that they were cheated by three people _ Valu Naik, Pulla Babu and Gadipally Venkateswarlu. The trio collected Rs 80 lakh from more than a dozen youth through Swamy. A government job in the electricity department was promised to the youngsters.

As they did not get any job, the youth demanded money from Swamy. The latter appealed to the trio to return the money. Despite repeated appeals Swamy was uanable to get the money back.

" I requested them to several times to return the money to the youngsters. Venkateswarlu transferred the entire amount to his personal account and cheated me. Due to this helpless situation we are committing suicide,” Swamy wrote.

According to Parakala sub-inspector T Prashanth, the family checked into a hotel in Hanamkonda. Late on Thursday, Sandhya went out and consumed poison near the church. After locals informed Swamy, he rushed to the spot and consumed poison. Their children were handed over to their relatives.
