Telangana: B Pharm student falls to death from hostel building

HANUMAKONDA: An 18 year old B-pharmacy student from private educational institution in Hanumakonda died after he accidentally fell from the third floor of the college hostel on Friday morning.

The vicitm was, Rabiul Ameen Khan, 18, a native of West Bengal.

According to the police, at around 9.30 am, Rabiul Khan accidentally fel from the third floor corridor of the hostel building. Immediately he was rushed to a neary hospital where he succumbed while undergoing treatment, Hanumakonda inspector V Venu Madhav said.

According to police, Khan was following a specific diet programme to reduce his weight.

“Friends said that Khan was following a diet plan he saw on a youtube channel to reduce weight. Two days back he was admitted at a local private hospital due to the sudden weight loss related complications. He was discharged on Thursday night and in the summary sheet it was mentioned that he lost 20kg in a span of few months,” Hanumakonda SI Suresh said.

After the death, family members of the student were informed about the incident. Based on the complaint of Khan’s cousin, police registered a case under section 174 of CrPC.

“The complainant mentioned that Khan accidentally fell from the corridor due to sudden bout of weakness,” the inspector said. After the postmortem, body was handed over to the family.
